I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

While you wait, begin mopping up any water, position a bucket to catch any drips, and clear away important possessions from the affected area. If the property water is turned off, also switch off the heating for the hot water.

You may have been shown it as a stopcock, isolating valve or toby. This valve is normally located on the boundary near the road, usually under a blue or black plastic cover.
