I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

Once you have stopped the leak from worsening, give our emergency plumber a call, at any time of the day or night. We’ll be there promptly to solve the issue.

While waiting for the plumber to arrive, remove any important items close to the leak, and wipe up any water or put a container to catch any drips. If you’ve turned the mains water off, switch off the hot water heating as well.

Help, I don’t know where the main water shutoff valve is!

You may have been shown it as a stopcock, isolating valve or toby. This valve is normally located on the boundary near the road, usually under a blue or black plastic cover.
